Patchy cloud over the water after dark, with a consistent blow out of the S and pressure ticking upward. Give the shaded margin through bright spells the first hour at Lake Inman. Block out the hours from night into morning. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Lake Inman in the McPherson County part of Kansas. Elevation runs to 1,444 feet. With some 132 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. About 1.7 miles of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. It is the biggest water on our McPherson County list. Inman is the closest place, 3.1 miles off. Buhler is 8.3 miles away, with McPherson at 9.1 miles. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. McPherson County records list black bullhead, green sunfish and common carp among the fish reported. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lake Inman that means starting tight and working out.
In an average year July sits at 80°F and January at 29°F. Some winters cap it and some do not. In a normal year the cover is thin and short-lived. June to September is hot work, so the first and last hours are what count. Time your trip to Lake Inman by conditions rather than dates.
We hold no note on access for this one. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the catfish, fish bottom baits into the deeper holes and let them sit. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Failing this one, try Big Sinkhole, 3.3 miles away. What applies at Lake Inman may have changed since it was mapped.
