Bright moon and an empty sky tonight, with a helpful ripple pushed from the WNW and the barometer heading up. Whatever swims in Reservoir Number Two should be near structure within a cast of the bank. A long productive spell runs the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Reservoir Number Two is set in Jefferson County, Iowa. The ground around here is lake country bush. It measures about 48 acres, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Shoreline comes to about 1.5 miles, small enough to learn in a day. It is the biggest water on our Jefferson County list. Fairfield sits 1.4 miles from the bank. For a city, Cedar Rapids is 70 miles off. No border sits close enough to matter.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. Look for where the old bank line still shows under the surface. Jefferson County records list bluegill, green sunfish and smallmouth bass among the fish reported. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. At Reservoir Number Two the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Expect July near 76°F and January near 21°F on the long-run figures. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near mid March. Expect the water usable from around mid March until roughly mid December. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. It holds true on Reservoir Number Two more years than not.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. A car park lies half a mile away, so the walk in is short. There are picnic tables recorded roughly half a mile off. A toilet block sits half a mile away. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Reservoir Number One sits 0.4 miles off and takes the overflow. Treat access at Reservoir Number Two as something to verify.
