• Where to Fish on Forest Park Swimming Pool

No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. Fish documented in Vigo County include bluegill, longear sunfish and green sunfish. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. On Forest Park Swimming Pool a short move beats a long cast.

• Seasonal Patterns

The warmest month averages 76°F, the coldest about 26°F. Neither winter nor summer shuts things down for long. It should never be assumed safe, whatever the month says. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. On Forest Park Swimming Pool the same rules apply, with local timing.

• Tackle & Baits

Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. There is a toilet block some half a mile out. Bluegill and other panfish take small jigs or worms under a float near any cover. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Maple Avenue Lake sits 2.5 miles off and takes the overflow. Signs at Forest Park Swimming Pool carry more weight than any list.
