Hard light and clear air over the water, with the water lying quiet and pressure sitting still. The water to cover at Pierson Lake is inflow corners and shaded margins. Plan around the stretch from night into morning. Keep moving until you find them. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Pierson Lake sits in Monroe County, out in Georgia. The water sits 656 feet up. Small at around 10 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Nearest place of any size is Barnesville, 11 miles away. Forsyth is 13 miles and Thomaston 13 miles. The line between counties passes nearby, which can change who manages the water. It is easier to fish well than to fish quickly.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Standing timber shows when the level drops, and fish sit against it. Rip-rap along the wall holds fish that the open bank never does. Documented catches and surveys in the area cover striped jumprock, American eel, bluegill, largemouth bass and mud darter. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Pierson Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Averages here run 80°F at the top of summer and 44°F at the bottom of winter. Heat sets the pattern from late spring onward. March through May is the strongest run, with autumn a second stretch. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. The season on Pierson Lake follows the weather closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. State or provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Should this one be busy, Turner Lake is 1.7 miles off. What applies at Pierson Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
