Flat light and a covered sky today, with air barely moving with pressure dropping. On Paces Lake, work the first drop-off and weed lines first. A broad window opens from afternoon into evening. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Paces Lake in Cobb County, Georgia. It stands 817 feet above sea level. It covers about 7 acres, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Vinings sits 0.6 miles from the bank. It is 6.8 miles to Sandy Springs, the nearest city. You are close to a county edge here; who manages the access can change within a short drive.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Draw-down through summer strips the margins, so follow the water out. Look for where the old bank line still shows under the surface. Public wildlife records from this area list green sunfish, redbreast sunfish, eastern blackbanded darter and shoal bass. Records come from public data, not from a stocking programme. On Paces Lake a short move beats a long cast.
On the long-term average, July reads 79°F and January reads 42°F. Fish stay active all year, but they move with the heat. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer squeezes it into the edges of the day. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. The season on Paces Lake rarely departs from it.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. You will be walking about half a mile from the nearest car park. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Laurel Lake is 2.5 miles off. Signs at Paces Lake carry more weight than any list.
