An even grey lid over the water, with light air out of the SSW with a settled glass. Whatever swims in Moss Lake should be near reed fringes and open pockets. A long productive spell runs night into morning. Make the first hour count and build on it. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Moss Lake in Colquitt County, Georgia. The bank is 335 feet above sea level. The water measures roughly 16 acres, so nothing here is far from anything else. Moultrie lies 10 miles from the water. Then Meigs, 14 miles, and Pelham, 14 miles. Rules can differ a short way off, since the county line is near. Most people fish the same few areas, which leaves the rest quiet.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Draw-down through summer strips the margins, so follow the water out. Rip-rap along the wall holds fish that the open bank never does. Nearby survey and observation records mention brown darter, dollar sunfish and gulf darter. Use it to know what is possible here, not what is certain. Anyone new to Moss Lake should walk it once before setting up.
Typical July readings run about 81°F; by January the average is down near 49°F. Heat, not cold, decides when to be on the water. The first and last hours carry the summer; the middle is slow. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. Plan any trip to Moss Lake around it.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the panfish, a small hook, a float and a piece of worm outfish everything fancy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. If the gate is shut, Moss Lake North at 0.5 miles is the nearest alternative. Confirm access to Moss Lake locally before you travel.
