Uneven cloud over the water after dark, with calm air over the water and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lake Deborah along structure within a cast of the bank. Make the night the heart of the trip. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

It is low-lying compared with other Florida water we list. Head to Folkston, 3.8 miles away, for anything you forgot. It is 37 miles to Jacksonville, the nearest city. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. Points where the flooded channel swings in are the reliable ones. Public wildlife records from this area list largemouth bass, redbreast sunfish, spotted sunfish, bluegill and warmouth. Treat it as evidence of what swims in the area. At Lake Deborah the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Long-run averages give July about 82°F and January about 52°F. The season is continuous, with heat as the only real check. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. Plan any trip to Lake Deborah around it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. You can launch from a ramp around half a mile away. Public data records a pier about half a mile out. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Gowen Lake at 5 miles is the nearest alternative.
