Sunshine start to finish today, with a whisper of wind from the ENE as pressure slides. Give points where shallow meets deep the first hour at Harrell Lake. The day holds up well from night into morning. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Night
The Troup County end of Georgia holds Harrell Lake. The water sits 640 feet up. At about 30 acres, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The bank runs about 1.0 miles all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Size puts it in the front rank of our Troup County list. West Point at 2.9 miles is the nearest place to stop. Further out sit Lanett (3.5 miles) and Valley (5.4 miles). This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. Standing timber shows when the level drops, and fish sit against it. Documented catches and surveys in the area cover blackbanded darter, bluegill and green sunfish. The records cover the area rather than this water alone. On Harrell Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 79°F, while January sits near 44°F. Warm months push fish deep; cool months bring them back. March through May is the strongest run, with autumn a second stretch. The cooler months are the comfortable ones to fish here. Harrell Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Our records carry no access rule either way. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the catfish, fish bottom baits into the deeper holes and let them sit. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Beal Juniors Lake, 2.2 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Harrell Lake as something to verify.
