Full sun on the water today, with light air out of the ENE and a rising glass. Most of the action on Hale Lake should come off the shaded margin through bright spells. A long productive spell runs night into morning. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Hale Lake is a Warren County water, Georgia side. Land around it is open plain. At roughly 13 acres, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Sparta is the closest place, 10 miles off. Beyond it, West Warrenton at 10 miles and Warrenton at 11 miles. Others worth noting: Aiken Pond out at 5.1 miles, Coleman Lake 7 miles away, Warrenton City Pond out at 8.3 miles, Glenn Pond 8.3 miles away and English Lake out at 8.5 miles. A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Levels move with the draw rather than the rain on water like this. Inflow corners move water, and moving water gathers fish. Documented catches and surveys in the area cover redeye bass, blackbanded darter and tessellated darter. It is a record of sightings and surveys, so use it as a guide. On Hale Lake that means starting tight and working out.
The warm month here averages 80°F; the cold one sits at 44°F. Summer heat is the limit here, not winter cold. Shade and hour of day matter more than month. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. That is the shape of the year on Hale Lake. Water temperature lags the air by a week or so.
Public data does not answer the access question here. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Aiken Pond at 5.1 miles is the sensible second choice. Rules at Hale Lake are worth checking on the day.
