Sunshine start to finish today, with a whisper of wind from the E as pressure builds. Give inflow corners and shaded margins the first hour at Chickasaw Lake. Plan around the stretch from night into morning. Keep moving until you find them. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Chickasaw Lake lies within the bounds of Cherokee County, Georgia. It stands 1,171 feet above sea level. Small at around 11 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It sits higher than most water we list in Georgia. Some 7.2 miles away sits Rydal, the nearest settlement. Canton is 8.5 miles and Holly Springs 12 miles. Two sets of local rules meet not far from this water.
Our records hold no depth for this water. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. Fish reported in the area, according to open records, include redeye bass, coosa darter, redbreast sunfish, blackbanded darter and mobile logperch. Records come from public data, not from a stocking programme. Treat Chickasaw Lake as a water to read rather than to cover.
Climate records put July near 76°F and January near 39°F. Warm months push fish deep; cool months bring them back. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. It sets the rhythm of the year at Chickasaw Lake. Water temperature lags the air by a week or so.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Failing this one, try Lake Arrowhead, 1.9 miles away. For Chickasaw Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
