Clear air and long views across the water tonight, with a faint SW drift with the glass holding level. Activity on Sawgrass Lake should centre on reed fringes and open pockets. The day holds up well from night into morning. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Sawgrass Lake in the Brevard County part of Florida. Height above sea level is 3 feet. About 494 acres, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. With 3.7 miles or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It lies lower than most water we list in Florida. For supplies, June Park is 6 miles out. The nearest city of size is Palm Bay, 12 miles away. Being near a boundary, it pays to know which side you are fishing.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Nearby survey and observation records mention bluegill, Florida gar, redear sunfish, bowfin and largemouth bass. Records show what people reported, not what is stocked. Anyone new to Sawgrass Lake should walk it once before setting up.
August runs about 81°F on average, January about 61°F. Cold never shuts this water down; heat is the only limit. Season rules are a separate question. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. June to September is hot work, so the first and last hours are what count. Plan around that when you fish Sawgrass Lake.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Little Sawgrass Lake is 0.9 miles distant. What applies at Sawgrass Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
