A clean, cloudless night over the water, with a stiffish breeze from the NE with a settled glass. Fish at Red Lake should hold close to the shaded margin through bright spells. The useful hours run night into morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Within Orange County, Florida, you have Red Lake. This is warm green lowland country. With some 122 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. On our Orange County list it sits near the top for size. Meadow Woods lies 6.7 miles from the water. For a city, Orlando is 12 miles off. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include bluegill, Florida gar, largemouth bass and spotted sunfish. That is what has been logged nearby, not a stocking list, so check local rules before you plan around any one species. Red Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.
Between January at about 60°F and July at about 82°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Every month fishes, though midsummer narrows the useful hours. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. Spring and autumn carry the year; summer squeezes it into the ends of the day. It holds true on Red Lake more years than not.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. The nearest car park we can see is half a mile out, so expect a walk with your gear. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Buck Lake sits 0.6 miles off and takes the overflow. For Red Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
