Open sky and sharp air tonight, with a useful NE wind pushing food about and the barometer holding steady. Fish at Marlee Lake should hold close to bays that hold the day's warmth. Expect the better fishing from the day. Give the likely spots time before moving. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Night
Marlee Lake is set in Hillsborough County, Florida. Land around it is open low country. At 11 acres it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Our Hillsborough County list holds plenty of bigger water. Citrus Park lies 2.8 miles from the water. Further out sit Westchase (3.1 miles) and Keystone (3.9 miles). A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Records collected within a few miles name largemouth bass, bluegill, Florida gar and redear sunfish. Presence in the area does not guarantee a fish on the day. The near bank of Marlee Lake is often the one people ignore.
Climate records put July near 82°F and January near 60°F. Heat, not cold, decides when to be on the water. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. June to September is hot work, so the first and last hours are what count. Expect Marlee Lake to follow that timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Thorpe Lake, 0.2 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position at Marlee Lake before loading the car.
