Clear air and long views across the water tonight, with a busy NE wind on the open water and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lake Ola should be near the margins and the shelf beyond them. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

In Florida, Lake Ola belongs to Orange County. Elevation runs to 69 feet. At 428 acres this is proper open water rather than a pond. The edge covers about 3.3 miles, enough to hold several distinct areas. On our Orange County list it sits near the top for size. Nearest town is Tangerine, 0.8 miles off. The big place round here is Orlando, 22 miles distant. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Fish reported in the area, according to open records, include Florida gar, brown bullhead, bluegill and largemouth bass. Records come from public data, not from a stocking programme. Lake Ola gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The year swings from about 58°F in January to roughly 82°F in July. There is no dead season here at all. The first and last hours carry the summer; the middle is slow. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. The season on Lake Ola follows the weather closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lake Fanny at 1.3 miles is the sensible second choice. For Lake Ola in particular, ask before you travel.
