No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with a decent NE wind working the banks as pressure builds. Whatever swims in Lake Maggie should be near the seam between weed and open water. A long productive spell runs the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Night
Lake Maggie sits in Lake County, out in Florida. The surface lies 180 feet up. About 4 acres of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. On size it sits at the modest end of our Lake County list. Start from Eustis, 2.2 miles down the road. Mount Dora lies 3 miles off, Tavares another 5.4 miles. Rules can differ a short way off, since the county line is near.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish reported in the area, according to open records, include bluegill, threadfin shad, dollar sunfish and largemouth bass. Presence in the area does not guarantee a fish in this exact water on the day. Work Lake Maggie in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Average temperature peaks around 81°F in July and bottoms out near 58°F in January. Every month fishes, though midsummer narrows the useful hours. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. On Lake Maggie the same rules apply, with local timing.
Public data does not answer the access question here. You will be walking about half a mile from the nearest car park. Hidden Waters Preserve runs up to the bank here, which usually means extra restrictions. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. The nearest alternative is Lake Joanna, 0.4 miles out. Where Lake Maggie is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
