Clear overhead with good moonlight, with steady pressure of wind from the NE and pressure going nowhere. Give any hard bottom among the soft the first hour at Lake Lee. The best of it runs night into morning. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lake Lee falls in Polk County, part of Florida. The country round it is open low country from end to end. Small at around 8 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Polk County. Lake Hamilton lies 0.3 miles from the water. Dundee is 1.8 miles and Haines City 4.6 miles. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include blue tilapia and Florida largemouth bass. Reporting is uneven, so absence from the list means little. On Lake Lee that means starting tight and working out.
The range across the year is 61°F to 82°F. There is no cold season worth the name. Shade and hour of day matter more than month. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. At Lake Lee the season follows that pattern closely. Water colour tells you more than the air temperature does.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. The nearest car park we can see is half a mile out, so expect a walk with your gear. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lake Sara, 0.3 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lake Lee as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
