No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with enough NE wind to stack food downwind and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lake Elsie should hold close to sheltered bays and points. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

The Lake County end of Florida holds Lake Elsie. It stands 105 feet above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 16 acres, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Lake County list. The closest town, Tavares, is 1.1 miles distant. Further out sit Eustis (3.2 miles) and Mount Dora (4 miles). A county line runs close by, so local bylaws can differ within a short drive.
Our records hold no depth for this water. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include bluegill, threadfin shad, dollar sunfish, largemouth bass and redbreast sunfish. Treat it as evidence of what swims in the area. Work Lake Elsie in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Long-term averages put July at about 82°F and January near 58°F. Warm water year-round keeps fish moving through every month. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. It holds true on Lake Elsie more years than not.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. There is somewhere to leave the car, half a mile off. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lake Tavares, 0.4 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Lake Elsie carry more weight than any list.
