A mixed sky through the night, with a consistent blow out of the NE with the glass holding level. Whatever swims in Lake Cherokee should be near points where shallow meets deep. Block out the hours from night into morning. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Look for Lake Cherokee in the Orange County part of Florida. Salt water lies 34 miles off. Small at around 12 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Orlando sits 0.6 miles from here and is the nearest stop. Then Holden Heights, 2.7 miles, and Conway, 3.2 miles. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Nearby survey and observation records mention bluegill, largemouth bass, blue tilapia, Florida gar and black crappie. Reporting is uneven, so absence from the list means little. Take Lake Cherokee a stretch at a time.
Averages here run 82°F at the top of summer and 60°F at the bottom of winter. Cold never shuts this water down; heat is the only limit. Season rules are a separate question. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. June to September is hot work, so the first and last hours are what count. Plan any trip to Lake Cherokee around it.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. Mapping shows parking within half a mile. Fishing from a pier is possible half a mile away. There is a toilet block some half a mile out. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Failing this one, try Lake Davis, 0.3 miles away. Check the current arrangement for Lake Cherokee.
