Thin cloud passing over the water tonight, with a persistent wind from the NE with a settled glass. The fish at Lake Cain are likely to sit near shallow cover and weed edges. Block out the hours from night into morning. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lake Cain stands in Orange County, Florida. Elevation runs to 92 feet. It measures about 80 acres, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Shoreline comes to about 1.2 miles, small enough to learn in a day. The town to know is Tangelo Park, 2.6 miles out. Orlando is the closest city, 6.8 miles away. This one is safely inside the county line.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include blue tilapia, bluegill, largemouth bass and Florida gar. Take it as evidence of what swims here, not a promise for one session. On Lake Cain the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Climate records put July near 82°F and January near 60°F. Summer is the season to work around, not winter. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. Spring and autumn carry the year; summer squeezes it into the ends of the day. The season on Lake Cain follows the weather closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. A launch point is recorded some half a mile off. There is somewhere to leave the car, half a mile off. Mapping shows a jetty some half a mile off. A picnic site 0.9 miles off makes this workable with family in tow. Mapping records toilets within half a mile. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. The nearest alternative is Lake Louisa, 0.7 miles out. None of that is settled for Lake Cain in what we hold.
