Uneven cloud over the water after dark, with a busy NE wind on the open water and pressure easing off. Most of the action on Lake Adelaide should come off reed fringes and open pockets. A long productive spell runs night into morning. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lake Adelaide is a Highlands County water, in Florida. The surroundings are open low country. At about 90 acres, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 1.6 miles or so, easy to work in an afternoon. You are 3.5 miles from Avon Park. After that come Frostproof at 7.3 miles and Sebring at 11 miles. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Nearby survey and observation records mention largemouth bass, bluegill, blue tilapia, Florida gar and warmouth. It reflects what has been logged, which depends on who was looking. On Lake Adelaide the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Expect August to average close to 82°F, with January the cold end at about 61°F. Cold never shuts this water down; heat is the only limit. Season rules are a separate question. Late winter and spring fish steadiest here. Late winter often fishes better here than midsummer does. Expect Lake Adelaide to follow that timing.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. A launch point is recorded some half a mile off. The nearest car park we can see is half a mile out, so expect a walk with your gear. Public data records a pier about half a mile out. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Pabor Lake at 0.9 miles is the sensible second choice. Treat access at Lake Adelaide as something to verify.
