Moonlight in and out behind the cloud tonight, with a steady NE wind with the glass holding level. Fish at Indian Lake should hold close to inflow corners and shaded margins. The forecast backs the stretch from afternoon into evening. Ride the conditions while they last. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Indian Lake sits within Volusia County in Florida. The setting is warm bottomland. It runs to roughly 52 acres — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. The bank runs about 1.1 miles all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. It lies lower than most water we list in Florida. Nearest place of any size is Daytona Beach, 9.1 miles away. Then Holly Hill, 9.3 miles, and South Daytona, 9.7 miles. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Species logged nearby in open biodiversity records include bluegill, largemouth bass and sheepshead. Take it as evidence of what swims here, not a promise for one session. Indian Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
Typical July readings run about 81°F; by January the average is down near 57°F. Every month fishes, though midsummer narrows the useful hours. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Indian Lake.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is recorded parking some half a mile off. Public data records a pier about half a mile out. Public toilets are recorded roughly half a mile off. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Little Tomoka River at 6.6 miles is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Indian Lake in what we hold.
