No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with a whisper of wind from the NE with pressure dropping. On Elberta, work structure within a cast of the bank first. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public wildlife records from this area list bluegill, largemouth bass, warmouth, swamp darter and redfin pickerel. Check the state or provincial list before planning around one species. At Elberta the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Climate normals give 82°F for July and 51°F for January. There is no dead season here at all. Late winter and spring fish steadiest here. The hot months push the fishing to dawn and dusk. On Elberta the same rules apply, with local timing. Overcast days spread the fishing across more hours.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. A car park lies 160 yards away, so the walk in is short. There are toilets mapped about half a mile away. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. For a change of water, Lake Henrietta is 2.2 miles distant. Confirm access to Elberta locally before you travel.
