Bright, clear skies over the water today, with a light chop building from the NE and a rising glass. Fish at Cypress Lake should hold close to bays that hold the day's warmth. The best of it runs the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

In Florida, Cypress Lake belongs to Osceola County. It sits in open low country. Surface area runs to some 6.3 sq miles, so a boat and a plan are both worth having. The shoreline runs about 8.8 miles, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. Size puts it in the front rank of our Osceola County list. Nearest town is Poinciana, 9.4 miles off. Saint Cloud follows at 12 miles, then Campbell at 15 miles. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Records collected within a few miles name black crappie, bluegill, Florida gar, largemouth bass and redear sunfish. Records come from public data, not from a stocking programme. On Cypress Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Climate records put August near 82°F and January near 61°F. Warm water year-round keeps fish moving through every month. The first and last hours carry the summer; the middle is slow. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. Cypress Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. For a change of water, Lake Gentry is 6.5 miles distant. For Cypress Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
