A still, cloudless night on the water, with steady pressure of wind from the NE and pressure sitting still. Give the weed line and any gaps in it the first hour at Lake Albert. The useful hours run the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lake Albert stands in Northeastern Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut. Everything around it is rolling hill. At about 42 acres, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Killingly Center sits 3.4 miles from the bank. Further out sit Foster (3.5 miles) and Danielson (4.2 miles). You are close to a county edge here; who manages the access can change within a short drive.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Inflow corners move water, and moving water gathers fish. Points where the flooded channel swings in are the reliable ones. County-wide records name bluegill, smallmouth bass, yellow bullhead, largemouth bass and chain pickerel. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lake Albert gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
On the long-term average, July reads 70°F and January reads 25°F. Temperature moves within a narrow band, and so does the fishing. Some winters give nothing at all, so plan for open water. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. Time your trip to Lake Albert by conditions rather than dates.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Smith Pond is 0.7 miles distant. None of that is settled for Lake Albert in what we hold.
