Stars out and no cloud tonight, with a faint NW drift with a firming glass. Give the margins and the shelf beyond them the first hour at Lake Edith. If you pick one session, make it the morning. Let the water tell you when to move. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lake Edith belongs to Clear Creek County, Colorado. Beyond the shoreline you have mixed forest. Surface area runs to about 10 acres — small enough to read in one session. Nearest town is Georgetown, 2.8 miles off. Then Idaho Springs, 9.6 miles, and Upper Bear Creek, 14 miles. Near neighbours: Clear Lake just 1.7 miles, Green Lake 1.9 miles, Georgetown Reservoir just 2 miles, Lower Cabin Creek Reservoir 2.2 miles and Upper Cabin Creek Reservoir just 3.1 miles. This one is safely inside the county line.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Draw-down through summer strips the margins, so follow the water out. Look for where the old bank line still shows under the surface. Survey and observation records for Clear Creek County include black-spotted cutthroat trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, brown trout and lake trout. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Anyone new to Lake Edith should walk it once before setting up.
Expect July to average close to 54°F, with January the cold end at about 20°F. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid May. The water is typically free of ice between mid May and mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. The season on Lake Edith rarely departs from it.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. There is camping recorded roughly half a mile off. A toilet block sits half a mile away. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Clear Lake at 1.7 miles is the nearest alternative. What applies at Lake Edith may have changed since it was mapped.
