A cloudless sky and strong light today, with a light chop building from the N and pressure easing off. Whatever swims in Lake Reflection should be near sheltered bays and points. The strongest window runs from the day. Stay mobile and follow the activity. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lake Reflection sits within Fresno County in California. This is lake country bush country. The water covers some 67 acres, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Roughly 1.1 miles of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. On our Fresno County list it sits near the top for size. Supplies mean a trip to Lone Pine, 22 miles off. Beyond it, Three Rivers at 31 miles and Big Pine at 33 miles. No boundary runs near, so the county rules hold throughout.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fresno County records list brown trout, brook trout and rainbow trout among the fish reported. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Anyone new to Lake Reflection should walk it once before setting up.
Long-term averages put August at about 50°F and January near 18°F. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly mid June. The open-water window runs from around mid June to about mid November in an average year. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Time your trip to Lake Reflection by conditions rather than dates.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. East Lake, 1.7 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lake Reflection is worth confirming on the day.
