Lake Lee belongs to Washington County, Mississippi. Country round the bank runs to pine and hardwood. It measures some 2.4 sq miles, and wind has room to build across it. With 12 miles or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It ranks among the bigger water on our Mississippi list. Greenville lies 9 miles from the water. Leland follows at 12 miles, then Metcalfe at 12 miles. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Fish reported in the area, according to open records, include common carp, sauger, bantam sunfish, black crappie and green sunfish. It is a record of sightings and surveys, so use it as a guide. On Lake Lee the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Long-term averages put July at about 82°F and January near 43°F. Cold never closes this one. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. Plan around that when you fish Lake Lee. Wind direction changes which bank is worth fishing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. The nearest alternative is Longwood Chute, 8.1 miles out. Confirm before you fish Lake Lee.
