Clear air and long views across the water tonight, with a decent ESE wind working the banks and the barometer heading up. The water to cover at Judd Lake is the first drop-off and weed lines. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Judd Lake sits within Apache County in Arizona. Beyond the shoreline you have open valley. The water measures roughly 15 acres, so nothing here is far from anything else. It is high ground by Arizona standards. The nearest town is Eagar, 19 miles away. Then Springerville, 21 miles, and Whiteriver, 46 miles. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. Held water runs deepest at the wall and shallows back to the inflow. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include Apache trout, rainbow trout, bluehead sucker, cutthroat trout and longfin dace. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Judd Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Between January at about 28°F and July at about 60°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Seasons here are moderate, and the fishing runs most of the year. It is not guaranteed even in a cold spell, so check yourself. Late winter often fishes better here than midsummer does. That shapes the year on Judd Lake.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Parking is not close: half a mile from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. If the gate is shut, Luna Lake at 4.3 miles is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Judd Lake in what we hold.
