Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with barely a breath of wind and steady pressure. Most of the action on The Loe should come off the calm side of the wind. Plan around the stretch from the day. Keep moving until you find them. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

The Loe is one of the Cornwall waters in England. The surroundings are farm and woodlot. The water covers some 136 acres, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Most waters listed here for Cornwall are larger. Nearest place of any size is Porthleven, 1.2 miles away. It is 55 miles to Plymouth, the nearest city. Close neighbours run: River Kennall some 12 miles off. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Survey and observation records for Cornwall include brown trout, European eel, pollack, rudd and rainbow trout. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On The Loe that means starting tight and working out.
Expect August near 16°C and February near 7°C on the long-run figures. Neither winter nor summer shuts things down for long. Hard water here is never dependable, so check for yourself before stepping out. The cooler months are the comfortable ones to fish here. That shapes the year on The Loe.
Public data does not answer the access question here. There is recorded parking some half a mile off. Toilets show in mapping about half a mile away. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. River Kennall at 12 miles is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for The Loe in what we hold.
