Snow softening the light today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SE and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Quiet Lake will be around windblown banks where food collects. A tough forecast; the evening offers the only real chance. Save the long walk for a better forecast.

Look for Quiet Lake in Village of Teslin, Yukon. It lies 802 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to some 54.22 sq km, so a boat and a plan are both worth having. Its shape is complex, and the arms fish like separate waters. Size puts it in the front rank of our Village of Teslin list. Start from Whitehorse, 115 km down the road. Beyond it, Skagway at 220 km and Haines at 245 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Records held for Village of Teslin cover Chinook salmon, lake whitefish and Arctic grayling. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Read Quiet Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
Seasonal averages run from -20°C in January up to 12°C in July. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. After mid May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about mid May until roughly late October. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. At Quiet Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
We hold no note on access for this one. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. For a change of water, Sandy Lake is 17 km distant. Nothing here settles the position at Quiet Lake for certain.
