Solid cloud cover today, with just enough SSE wind to ripple the surface and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Lacelle Lake around windblown banks where food collects. Quiet conditions all day, with the evening marginally better. Scale down and fish slowly. A cold snap day, so work the warmest water you can find.

Lacelle Lake belongs to Haines Junction, Yukon. The bank is 1,078 metres above sea level. At 1.17 sq km this is proper open water rather than a pond. The perimeter runs near 12 km, so plan the walk before you start. The closest town, Whitehorse, is 129 km distant. It is 687 km to Anchorage, the nearest city. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Haines Junction records list Arctic grayling, northern pike, lake trout, Dolly Varden and round whitefish among the fish reported. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Lacelle Lake gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Climate normals give 12°C for July and -20°C for January. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from mid May. Expect the water usable from around mid May until roughly late October. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. The season on Lacelle Lake follows the weather closely.
Public data does not answer the access question here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Failing this one, try Aishihik Lake, 11 km away. What applies at Lacelle Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
