A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a consistent blow out of the SSW and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Reservoir Robert-Bourassa are likely to sit near the seam between weed and open water. The morning is where the day comes good. A careful, quiet approach will out-fish a busy one.

Reservoir Robert-Bourassa belongs to Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. It stands 170 metres above sea level. Around 2758.99 sq km of open water: conditions change from one end to the other. The form is ragged, which puts a lot of structure within casting range. It is the biggest water on our Nord-du-Québec list. The closest town, Chisasibi, is 125 km distant. Then Waskaganish, 278 km, and Sanikiluaq, 341 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth records show about 137 metres at the bottom of the basin. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Records held for Nord-du-Québec cover Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Fish Reservoir Robert-Bourassa where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Long-run averages give July about 13°C and January about -22°C. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late May and starts locking again about mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. The season on Reservoir Robert-Bourassa rarely departs from it.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a dammed water rather than a natural one, which shows in the shape of the basin. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Lac Dachat, 33 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Reservoir Robert-Bourassa before loading the car.
