Nearby, in order: Lac Gatineau at about 1.2 km, Lac a Peterson at 1.3 km, Petit lac Creux at about 2 km, Lac Roland at 2.2 km and Lac Canot at about 2.2 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Reported across Laurentides: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Petit lac Gatineau the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 18°C, while January sits near -15°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. It sets the rhythm of the year at Petit lac Gatineau.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Lac Gatineau is 1.2 km off. Check the position on Petit lac Gatineau before loading the car.
