Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a gentle ripple from the W with the barometer flat. Fish at LacWaber should hold close to the weed line and any gaps in it. Quiet conditions all day, with the morning marginally better. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

You will find LacWaber in Mauricie, Quebec. The ground around here is rolling bush. Surface area is around 60 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. Shoreline length is close to 8.1 km, and each section fishes a little differently. Size puts it in the front rank of our Mauricie list. The town to know is Saint-Élie-de-Caxton, 34 km out. Trois-Rivières sits 66 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Records held for Mauricie cover northern pike, brook trout and walleye. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Read LacWaber before you fish it and the day goes better.
The warmest month averages 18°C, the coldest about -14°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. The open-water window runs from around late April to about late November in an average year. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. The season on LacWaber rarely departs from it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. A campsite is mapped about 250 m away, which makes an early start easier. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. The nearest alternative is Lac Tessier, 1.2 km out. Nothing on LacWaber should be assumed from this page alone.
