Dull, settled light over the water, with the water lying quiet and steady pressure. Fish at Lac Yolande should hold close to the seam between weed and open water. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Look for Lac Yolande in Lanaudière, Quebec. Land around it is lake country bush. With some 37 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. About 4.4 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. It is among the larger waters listed here for Lanaudière. The closest town, Manawan, is 37 km distant. Further out sit Saint-Michel-des-Saints (57 km) and Weymontachie (80 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Lanaudière, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. The county list is broader than any single water. Read Lac Yolande before you fish it and the day goes better.
The year swings from about -16°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Plan any trip to Lac Yolande around it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Should this one be busy, Lac du Bouleau a Canot is 1 km off. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Yolande for certain.
