Bright moon and an empty sky tonight, with an easy breeze from the N with the barometer flat. On Lac Wilson, work bays that hold the day's warmth first. Plan around the stretch from afternoon into evening. Keep moving until you find them. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

You will find Lac Wilson in Mauricie, Quebec. It sits in pine and birch country. Small at around 2 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Mauricie list. La Tuque at 13 km is the nearest place to stop. For a city, Trois-Rivières is 112 km off. Water in the same corner: Lac du Rocher at 2.1 km, Lac Martre 2.6 km away, Lac Noel at 2.7 km, Lac des Fourches 3.3 km away and Petit lac Turcotte at 3.4 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. On Lac Wilson the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -15°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. The water is typically free of ice between late April and late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. The season on Lac Wilson rarely departs from it.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac du Rocher at 2.1 km is the sensible second choice. Ask locally about Lac Wilson if anything is unclear.
