Lac Vert near Mont-Laurier: Fishing Spots, Seasons and Access

• Overview

  Lac Vert is a Laurentides water, Quebec side. The country here is rolling bush. It runs to roughly 10 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. The bank runs about 1.7 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. The nearest place of any size is Mont-Laurier, 22 km away. For a city, Gatineau is 99 km off. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.

• Where to Fish on Lac Vert

  Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Lac Vert runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
