Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a kind SW breeze on the water and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac Upie along inflow corners and shaded margins. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Upie is one of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue waters in Quebec. The water sits 373 metres up. Around 11 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. There is roughly 1.6 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. The nearest place of any size is Val-d'Or, 76 km away. Senneterre is 82 km and Barraute 96 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Read Lac Upie for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. The season on Lac Upie rarely departs from it.
Public data does not answer the access question here. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Haguenau, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Upie for certain.
