Flat light and a covered sky today, with a light SSW breeze and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lac Tyr should centre on points where shallow meets deep. A stay-home graph, with the evening as the one excuse to go. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Tyr lies within the bounds of Outaouais, Quebec. Height above sea level is 308 metres. At 2 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Outaouais. Saint-Raphaël at 27 km is the nearest place to stop. Gatineau sits 99 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Outaouais records list pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass among the fish reported. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Fish Lac Tyr to its features, not to its size.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Lac Tyr fishes to that pattern most years.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. The nearest alternative is Lac June, 1.2 km out. Check the position on Lac Tyr before loading the car.
