Wet weather working through today, with a faint WSW drift with the barometer flat. Fish at Lac Troue should hold close to the margins and the shelf beyond them. A stay-home graph, with the evening as the one excuse to go. Scale down and fish slowly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Troue is set in Mauricie, Quebec. It stands 202 metres above sea level. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. The nearest place of any size is La Tuque, 55 km away. Saguenay sits 127 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Also on the doorstep: Lac Perdu within 1.3 km, Deuxieme lac Chasse roughly 3.1 km, Lac Ermanger within 3.4 km, Lac Gingras roughly 3.8 km and Lac Yvon within 4 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Treat Lac Troue as a water to read rather than to cover.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -16°C in January. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly mid November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Time your trip to Lac Troue by conditions rather than dates.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Should this one be busy, Lac Perdu is 1.3 km off. Signs at Lac Troue carry more weight than any list.
