An even grey lid over the water, with next to no ripple with the barometer flat. The productive water at Lac Travers will be around structure within a cast of the bank. The numbers single out the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Look for Lac Travers in the Lanaudière part of Quebec. It sits in lake country bush. Surface area is around 10 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. About 2.4 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. For a base, Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm sits 20 km out. Beyond it, Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 29 km and Sainte-Béatrix at 40 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Species logged across Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Read Lac Travers before you fish it and the day goes better.
The seasonal spread runs -14°C to 18°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Anyone fishing Lac Travers regularly works to that calendar.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac Casse-Ligne is 0.6 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Travers in what we hold.
