Open sky and sharp air tonight, with light air out of the SW and no real change in pressure. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Tin. Little to get excited about, though the morning holds a sliver of promise. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

You will find Lac Tin in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. This is rolling bush ground. A splashy cast here empties the swim; a quiet one owns it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Start from Val-d'Or, 106 km down the road. Senneterre follows at 115 km, then Saint-Boniface at 119 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. County-wide records name northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. At Lac Tin the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -17°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Plan any trip to Lac Tin around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Should this one be busy, Lac du Blaireau is 2 km off. Signs at Lac Tin carry more weight than any list.
