Wet weather working through today, with a whisper of wind from the SSW with the glass holding level. The water to cover at Lac Tigas is the shallows early and the drop later. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Tigas is listed under Mauricie, Quebec. It sits in spruce and muskeg. Roughly 35 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The edge runs 2.6 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Size puts it in the front rank of our Mauricie list. Weymontachie at 33 km is the nearest place to stop. The big place round here is Trois-Rivières, 183 km distant. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Our records hold no depth for this water. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Open biodiversity records for Mauricie list northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Fish Lac Tigas to its features, not to its size.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -16°C at the bottom of winter. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Tigas.
Public data does not answer the access question here. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Donat at 1.9 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Tigas, the notice at the access point is the final word.
