Fresh rain topping the water up today, with a whisper of wind from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Ti-Louis should hold close to the seam between weed and open water. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Out in Lanaudière, Quebec, sits Lac Ti-Louis. The water sits 424 metres up. It covers about 6 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Nearest place of any size is Manawan, 45 km away. Further out sit Weymontachie (60 km) and Saint-Michel-des-Saints (77 km). The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Reported across Lanaudière: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Work Lac Ti-Louis in sections rather than trying to cover it.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -16°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Ti-Louis runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. If the gate is shut, Lac Line at 1.1 km is the nearest alternative. What applies at Lac Ti-Louis may have changed since it was mapped.
