Strong air moving over the water all day, with a stiffish breeze from the W and the barometer holding steady. On Lac Tasse, work the seam between weed and open water first. Make the middle of the day the heart of the trip. Pick two or three spots and rotate them. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

In Quebec, Lac Tasse falls inside Mauricie. The surface lies 427 metres up. At some 2.23 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. Around 14 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. On our Mauricie list it sits near the top for size. Nearest town is Leblanc, 26 km off. Further out sit Weymontachie (74 km) and Manawan (110 km). It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac Tasse responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Seasonal averages run from -18°C in January up to 16°C in July. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Plan any trip to Lac Tasse around it.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Lac Perdu at 5.5 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Tasse for certain.
