Soft grey light all day today, with a light N breeze with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac Tasialuk along points where shallow meets deep. A broad window opens from night into morning. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows. Biting air and slow fish: small baits, long pauses.

Out in Nord-du-Québec, Quebec, sits Lac Tasialuk. It sits at 144 metres above sea level. The water covers around 7.46 sq km, which puts most of it out of reach from the bank. The bank runs about 48 km in total, split between open shore and sheltered corners. Across our Quebec listings, few waters are bigger. For a base, Kuujjuaq sits 41 km out. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 1116 km away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Nord-du-Québec records list Arctic charr, brook trout and lake trout among the fish reported. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Lac Tasialuk responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Long-term averages put July at about 11°C and January near -24°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early June. Climate averages put the opening at about early June and the closing near late October. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Plan any trip to Lac Tasialuk around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Lac Mikijuaralik at 3.3 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Lac Tasialuk as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
