No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with a whisper of wind from the SW with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Taden should come off the shaded margin through bright spells. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Night
Lac Taden lies in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in Quebec. Elevation runs to 351 metres. At 2 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. On size it sits at the modest end of our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list. Val-d'Or is the closest town at 73 km. It is 264 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Lac Taden the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -16°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Taden runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Overnight stays are possible about 830 m out, where camping is mapped. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Failing this one, try Lac Panda, 1.6 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Taden in what we hold.
