Soft grey light all day today, with a decent W wind working the banks and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Lac Suzanne should come off the calm side of the wind. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet.

Lac Suzanne is a Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean water, Quebec side. It sits in boreal forest. At about 64 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The shoreline runs about 7.9 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. On our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list it sits near the top for size. Start from Labrecque, 149 km down the road. Saint-Honoré lies 151 km off, L'Ascension-de-Notre-Seigneur another 152 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac Suzanne that means starting tight and working out.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -19°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. The season on Lac Suzanne follows the weather closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Should this one be busy, Lac de la Tete is 3.7 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Suzanne in what we hold.
