An even grey lid over the water, with hardly a ripple anywhere with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Sue should be near inflow corners and shaded margins. Make the night the heart of the trip. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Out in Mauricie, Quebec, sits Lac Sue. The surroundings are taiga. Around 24 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. Shoreline comes to about 3.2 km, small enough to learn in a day. Supplies mean a trip to Weymontachie, 50 km off. The nearest city of size is Trois-Rivières, 214 km away. Water in the same corner: Lac Foster (1.5 km), Lac Break Up 1.7 km away, Lac Tapis (2.3 km), Lac Nash 4.8 km away and Lac Johnson (5.8 km). This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Read Lac Sue for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
The seasonal spread runs -17°C to 16°C. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. At Lac Sue the season follows that pattern closely.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Lac Foster is 1.5 km distant. Treat Lac Sue as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
