Damp, showery conditions today, with mild air moving in from the SSE and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac Stuart along reed fringes and open pockets. The useful hours run the day. Stay patient; middling days often turn late. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Set in Capitale-Nationale, Lac Stuart is a Quebec water. The country here is mixed forest. On water this small, stealth matters more than range. Most waters listed here for Capitale-Nationale are larger. The nearest town is Laurentides, 12 km away. After that come Saint-Raymond at 35 km and Saint-Ubalde at 45 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Across Capitale-Nationale, recorded fish include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker, sauger and channel catfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. The shape of Lac Stuart decides where the fish sit.
Seasonal averages run from -15°C in January up to 17°C in July. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Lac Stuart fishes to that pattern most years.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Omble de fontaine sits 1.2 km out and is marked for fishing. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac Goujon, 0.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Lac Stuart should be assumed from this page alone.
